Hanging with The Newest Members of the Family

Newest member #1
This is one of the new Rabbits I adopted yesterday. I don't have a name for her yet. She is a cute little thing and is quite spunky. This is one of two that I brought home yesterday.

Here is the other one (I think. They really do look quite a bit alike). She looks rather large in this photo, but really she fits into the palm of my hand. I haven't named her yet either, but I'm sure it won't take long.

This is one of the older members of my group. Her name is Twix (my husband named her). I've noticed that not only has she bonded quickly with the new little ones, but she is quite protective of them too! I love it and they look so cute all cuddled up next to each other. I have one other rabbit who is a little camera shy. Her name is Pocus (her ears flop straight down). She is solid black and has a wonderful disposition.

Izzy, my quirky Three-Legged Cat
And here, of course, is my awesome cat, Izzy. She has done quite well adjusting to having only three legs. She is running and playing outside just like she has done in the past. Although, it's a little hard for her to sneak up on things these days. She followed me out to the rabbit house and watched me take the photos.

I tried to take photos of our two dogs, Karma and Wylie, but everytime I thought I had the perfect shot.....well, you know, they are animals! But they are two of the sweetest, most well behaved dogs I've had the pleasure of owning.

So go outside (if you can) and enjoy this beautiful weather...Have a wonderful day.

First Signs of Spring

Well, I may be premature for hoping that spring is about to arrive, but the plants in my yard are certainly making it seem so. I took this photo of a couple of blooms in my Rock Garden. I use the term garden loosely, since I can't seem to get much to grow there.

Not much to report on the home projects front. I did however, take the popcorn texture off my ceiling in the master bathroom. It was very messy, but definitely satisfying! Now we are making decisions on exactly what we want to do in there, so no new progress has been made.

This past weekend we had a nice bonfire out back and roasted hotdogs...such a simple thing, but so gratifying. I love roasted "dogs" on the fire. After an afternoon of picking up limbs and cutting down diseased/dead trees, it was a great relaxing way to end the day.

Well, that's all for now. I'll keep you posted on any progress or anything fun and exciting that happens.

After the New Year

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I'm sure you can tell by my lack of posting that two things are occurring. One, it has been quite a busy holiday season, and two, I am a tad bit of a procrastinator.
I was hoping that by having this blog, it would make me somewhat more accountable in not only getting some crafty projects done, but also in journaling my thoughts. As you can see, neither has occurred. But all is not lost. I guess this post is a start, although I have nothing new to show or anything profound to say.

Christmas was wonderful and all that I hoped it would be. I was mostly interested in creating memories with the family and that's exactly what I got. Ok, I did receive some wonderful gifts too! Hopefully some of them will show up in projects throughout the year.

For now though, I am just trying to get through the snow days and hoping that things will get back to normal soon. I am ready for some demo.....did I say that out loud? Ok, I am looking forward to packing the basement up and tearing down some drywall and ripping up some carpet. I am afraid I have a little bit of spring fever going on. I'm ready to be finished with winter and start tackling all the lovely home improvement projects that I have been dying to do, but still have no money for! HA! But, demo is still free.

Although I am slow and have somewhat of a short attention span beyond a couple of days, I do manage to complete the projects. And sometimes, they come out pretty good.

So, I will close for now hoping that I will complete at least a few of the things I want to accomplish for the year. Guess we will find out soon enough.

Stay Crafty My Friends!
(did I really just type that?)

Saturday Post

Good Morning Everyone! I do apologize for taking so long to check in again. Lots of crazy stuff happening here.
First and foremost, I regretfully must say that someone has shot my beloved cat, Izzy. It shattered her left hind leg and the only way to save her is to have it amputated. I'm waiting for the doctor to call me now to see when we can schedule the surgery. She is here at home with me resting, I hope peacefully. We are giving her antibiotics and pain medicine twice a day, which does seem to help her sleep.

On a happier note, we had our first preproduction meeting for our short film, Birth of a Salesman, on Wednesday. We enjoyed a nice meal with some of our cast and crew, and then proceeded to do a cold read of the script. I think we are going to fare quite well with this. I know we are all excited to get the ball rolling. I would like to give a special thanks to our hostess and producer, Joan Howard (and you too Richard!).

And last but not least, here is an update on the "Moondance" quilt that my Mom and I are working on. We are each doing one, but they are both the same. We have the main blocks put together and have added one border. We only have two more to go! We purchased the majority of the fabric from Fabric.com. Not only was the shipping incredibly fast, but I am very pleased and impressed with the quality of fabrics. Free shipping too on orders over $35.

Well, it's off to do more organizing. One more week until the yard sale. So many things left to go through!
Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Evening

Hello out there in Blogland. I just had a nice romantic dinner on my freshly painted screened in back porch. Candles lit everywhere! I am already enjoying this wonderful fall weather.

Well, speaking of candles and light, I finally hung the wine bottle tiki torches I made. I won't take all the credit, I found the idea online...but it looks so awesome to me! And believe me, they really do put out a lot of light. I hope I can talk my friends into saving their wine bottles for me so I can make more.

I also had my first welding lesson with my Dad last Friday. He was instructing me on puddling and beads. Even though I want to rush right into making something, I know I have to practice, practice, practice at this before I can actually put two pieces together. But I am very excited. I found the inspiration for the first real piece I want to put together. Would love to share, but you are just going to have to wait....and so am I cause I have to practice, practice, practice!! LOL

Hope everyone has a great evening!

So my friend asked what she had to do to get a wreath on her door. Well, I just made one up to surprise her. Now hopefully she won't read this until after I give it to her. Man, I really do Love surprising people. Hope she likes it!!!

Spooky

Well, I finally finished the simple Halloween wreath I was working on last night. It took me a few coats of paint to turn the wreath black, but it worked out ok. Just don't look too close...LOL
I could have taken it a million directions but decided to go with simple and sparkly.
Now it's your turn...go make something Spooky!
